This is for students who require an official qualification for work or study. This exam is an ideal way to prove your language ability. The school provides the following exams: Cambridge First (B2 First), Cambridge Advanced (C1 Advanced) and Cambridge Proficiency (C2 Proficiency) which are recognized by many employers and universities throughout the world. This is a beautiful qualification to place on your CV. For those interested in undertaking the Proficiency exam, there is an option for individual tuition. The final test will be held at the school due to its reputation of being the most significant open test centre in Scotland for IELTS and Cambridge exams.

Details: A homestay is an advantageous option as it offers more towards language practice than other options. Students can use newly learnt English skills to communicate with the hosts and local people and get involved with the local culture. The hosts of the Homestays are chosen carefully in terms of their personalities. They welcome the students and facilities provided inside the homes. Mealtime will usually be together with the other family members, and the living space will be shared. Students will be provided with a single room, breakfast and dinner each day and a quiet place when you need to study. The homes are located about 30 minutes from Edinburgh in suburban areas. For students under the age of 18, this is the only option available to them due to safety and welfare reasons.

Details: This is only available during the summer, and there is more than one location for residential accommodation. This is preferable for students over the age of 18 who require independent living. Students will be provided with a single room, and ensuite bathroom shared kitchen facilities and common areas. A majority of these options are walking distance from the school.

Canal point (self-catered summer residence)
This residence is located in the Tollcross area, about 20 minutes on foot to the school. And 15 minutes from the centre of the city and its attractions. There are many social gathering spots in the area of the residence, including shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. In the vicinity, there is also Union Canal and Meadows Park.
