Details This course is developed for those who desire to become better overall communicators of English. This means that conversations with your friends in English will become more fluent and smoother, you will start to watch movies in English without subtitles, and you can talk with your clients or customers at work more efficiently. This will improve overall English for everybody's needs. Students will enhance their knowledge and accuracy as well as skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. The following topics will be the core of the programme: morning discussion session, spoken fluency and interaction, language focus and language practice, reading, writing and listening skills and critical evaluation and analysis.

Details: A homestay is an advantageous option as it offers more towards language practice than other options. Students can use newly learnt English skills to communicate with the hosts and local people and get involved with the local culture. The hosts of the Homestays are chosen carefully in terms of their personalities. They welcome the students and facilities provided inside the homes. Mealtime will usually be together with the other family members, and the living space will be shared. Students will be provided with a single room, breakfast and dinner each day and a quiet place when you need to study. The homes are located about 30 minutes from Edinburgh in suburban areas. For students under the age of 18, this is the only option available to them due to safety and welfare reasons.

Details: This is only available during the summer, and there is more than one location for residential accommodation. This is preferable for students over the age of 18 who require independent living. Students will be provided with a single room, and ensuite bathroom shared kitchen facilities and common areas. A majority of these options are walking distance from the school.

Canal point (self-catered summer residence)
This residence is located in the Tollcross area, about 20 minutes on foot to the school. And 15 minutes from the centre of the city and its attractions. There are many social gathering spots in the area of the residence, including shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. In the vicinity, there is also Union Canal and Meadows Park.
