OISE Folkestone Junior – Academic Immersion

The programme is developed to strengthen their language knowledge, accuracy and fluency in English and study such academic subjects as History, Geography, Natural Sciences and Literature.
The course consists of the following aspects:

• Academic subject knowledge. Students focus on getting experience and excellent understanding of academic subjects, including English Literature, the performing arts, Geography, History, Science and Politics.
• English language in use. In a session, students read texts or watch videos, analyze the content, language features and carry out different spoken and written tasks.
• Creative projects. Students can use different styles of presentation: video reportage or a blog.
• Each student keeps a Learner Portfolio to monitor his progress and achievement.
• Students visit outstanding landmarks of the city and then present their thoughts and findings and compare them with their own culture.
