Details: The internship program allows you to get work experience. You should have sufficient knowledge of the German language and get the permission of the Central Employment Office (ZAV) for doing an internship in Germany. Participants 18 – 26 years of age and citizens of a country-member of the European Union can take an internship position after the completion of their German courses. For all other nationalities, an internship is limited. Nevertheless, in case if you study in your home university and the placement is connected with your field of study, so the training is available.

You may choose to live in a host family. It is an excellent possibility to practice the German language after classes to improve your skills. You will learn about the German way of life and traditions. You can live with a family with kids, with singles or with older people. All families will be glad to welcome international students.
The participant can rent a single room in an apartment. You will provide for your meal and share housework with your cohabitants.
If you want to live independently, you may book a room in a Youth Hotel. You should be 18 years or older.
In the Hamburg Student Residence, students 18 years and older can rent a private room.
