New York is one of the biggest cities worldwide. The town is situated at the mouth of the Hudson River. Embassy Long Island University (LIU) is located on Long Island University Brooklyn, just one subway stop from Manhattan.


MAJOR SIGHTS NEARBY


There are many places of interest in New York. Many of the best sights are within walking distance of each other or just a short ride away. It makes the city a delight for sightseeing.
One of the remarkable highlights is the Statue of Liberty built-in 1886. and is a symbol of freedom. Besides, Central Park impresses with its majestic beauty. This vast park located in the centre of the city is a half-mile wide and 2.5 miles long. In Central Park, you can visit the Belvedere Castle, Strawberry Fields, the Central Park Zoo and the Lake.
There are a lot of famous streets in New York which are known worldwide. Wall Street is renowned for business and finance. Fifth Avenue is a high shopping street. One of favourite visits to New York is to attend a Broadway show. It makes a lasting impression.
There are numerous skyscrapers in New York. The Empire State Building is New York’s most famous highlight and tourist attraction.
New York has many museums and art galleries, which have collected unique works of art. You can visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of Art.


AVAILABLE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PROGRAMMES


The highly qualified staff organises engaging cultural and leisure time activities to entertain students after classes and weekends. They are offered to take part in multiple excursions, a large number of school events where they can practice their language skills. Each programme is well organised. There is no time to be bored. A large number of entertainment and sports activities are provided for students. Everyday activities are aimed at making friends, practising the English language and developing essential life skills. Events are organised in the evenings and afternoons.

ACCOMMODATION


Student Residence
Students are accommodated at the student residence in Hoyt Halls located within a 5-minute walk from the LIU campus. Students live in standard twin/triple rooms or quad en-suites. Meals are arranged in a sizeable self-service dining hall in the residence building.
