The UK is one of the best destinations in the world to study the English language. Embassy Summer in the UK takes place in several cities: London, Gatton Park, Kingswood, Brighton, Cambridge, Canterbury, Oxford and Portsmouth.
In London, you can choose from five summer camps: Docklands, South Bank, Shoreditch, Mile End and UCL.
Embassy Gatton Park is located in the county of Surrey, an hour drive from central London. The centre sets in Royal Alexandra and Albert School in Gatton Park.


MAJOR SIGHTS NEARBY


The convenient location of the language centre gives an opportunity to visit London and Brighton.
London is home to the world’s most famous tourist attractions. They include the London Eye, the Madame Tussaud’s Museum, Big Ben, the Buckingham Palace, and many others.
Buckingham Palace is the formal residence of Queen Elizabeth. Besides, one of the main places of interest is the Tower of London, one of the oldest buildings used as a royal residence, fortress, prison, mint and, even, zoo. Today it is the place where the Crown Jewels are kept.
Trafalgar Square is one of the great spots. It was named after the victory in the Battle of Trafalgar. There is Nelson’s column with four lions in the centre of the square. Nearby this site, you can visit the National Gallery, St. Martin-in-the-field and Admiralty Arch.
Don’t lose your chance to go to a historic area of London, Westminster. It includes such landmarks as Westminster Abbey, the place of coronation and burial site for all British kings and queens, and the Palace of Westminster, the meeting place of the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
There are many places to visit in Brighton. The Royal Pavilion is a must-see sight. The outstanding building was designed by John Nash in the 19th century. There are the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery where you can enjoy an impressive collection of Art Deco pieces, a costume gallery with fashions from the 18th century, and the Willett Collection of porcelain and ceramics. Also, don’t miss the Booth Museum of Natural History. One of the main places of the city is Brighton’s Victorian-era Palace Pier that features a funfair, restaurants and arcade halls. Besides, the Lanes with narrow streets, remarkable buildings with bright facades, brilliant restaurants and vintage cafes, bookshops and art spaces are famous cities.

The British Airways i360 observation tower is worth a visit. The town’s tallest structure gives beautiful views of Brighton. Brighton is an excellent place for sports lovers. Highlights offer sailing, kite surfing, diving, hiking, and biking.


AVAILABLE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PROGRAMMES


The highly qualified staff organises engaging cultural and leisure time activities to entertain students after classes and weekends. They are offered to take part in multiple excursions, a large number of school events where they can practice their language skills. Each programme is well organised. There is no time to be bored. A large number of entertainment and sports activities are provided for students. Everyday activities are aimed at making friends, practising the English language and developing essential life skills. The schedule may vary. During some weeks, groups will have morning lessons and afternoon activities, whereas other weeks’ groups may have afternoon lessons and morning activities.
The company is aimed at creating an ideal learning environment to help students to develop six essential life skills: creativity, teamwork, confidence, communication, problem solving and exploration. The activity programmes are designed to ensure the elaboration of these skills.

ACCOMMODATION


Students are accommodated in boarding houses, consisting of dormitory rooms Ranging from 2-6 students per room. There is one large bathroom per home with numerous toilets and showers. Besides, in Gatton Park, there are also some twin ensuite rooms, located in a separate annexe. Each room includes a bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a chair. There is a communal lounge with TV, DVD and an array of games as Table Tennis and Pool in each boarding house. Meals are served in a spacious self-served dining hall.
