One of the world-class schools for German as a foreign language is DID Deutsch-Institut. LOCATION

Höchst lies 25 kilometres east of Darmstadt, in the northern Odenwald. The residence of DID Summer School is situated in the centre of the city; it occupies one of the buildings of the former medieval monastery. For the summer months DID Deutsch-Institute rents its premises to organise summer language courses. During the rest of the year, the monastery is the conference centre of the Protestant Church.

The chief sight of Höchst in Odenwald is the monastery complex where DID Summer School is located. It is a historical monument of medieval times.
Studying in Höchst gives an excellent opportunity to visit neighbouring cities such as Frankfurt, Aschaffenburg, Mainz, Darmstadt and Wiesbaden. In Mainz, you can learn about Roman history. In Wiesbaden, you can go to the famous casino. Frankfurt is renowned for its mix of outstanding historic buildings and modern skyscrapers. Opera House, St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral, Goethe House and Museum and the Romerberg are must-see landmarks in Frankfurt.

AVAILABLE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PROGRAMMES

DID Summer School provides students with exciting activity programmes, which are included in the price of the course. The cultural programmes help to plunge into the German atmosphere, traditions and mentality. Besides, students are offered to take part in different sports activities and entertainment. There is a big park near the school to play football, volleyball, basketball, badminton or have barbeques. Once a week, students go on a full-day excursion. You can get acquainted with Frankfurt and visit its events.

ACCOMMODATION

Homestay
You may choose to live with a host family. It is an excellent opportunity to practice the German language after classes to improve your skills. You will learn about the German way of life and traditions. All families will be glad to welcome international students.

Residence
DID Summer School in Höchst in Odenwald offers residential accommodation. You will be housed in a Junior Residence. The accommodation facilities meet all standards and students’ demands. The double, triple and four-bed rooms are very cosy and comfortable. Classes are held in residence itself.
