Cologne is an old cathedral city in Germany that attracts tourists from all over the world with its cultural and historical heritage from Roman and medieval times. Among its attractions are Roman ruins, medieval temples, Baroque palaces and multiple museums and galleries.
Cologne is famous for its great Romanesque churches, notably the Cologne Cathedral. It is a masterpiece of High Gothic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Besides, Altenberg Cathedral, Great St. Martin Church and St. Gereon’s Church are worth visiting. Don’t lose your chance to go to Cologne’s Old Town where you will find a lot of museums, old houses, galleries, cafes and restaurants.
In Cologne, you can take a one-hour sightseeing cruise to see prominent landmarks of the city such as the Cologne Cathedral, the picturesque buildings of the Old Town and the Hohenzollern Bridge.
An example of Cologne’s modern art is The Museum Ludwig which was built in 1976. Here you can find important works of contemporary, expressionist and classic modern artists.

DID Summer School in Cologne provides students with an extensive extracurricular programme. Sport and entertainment activities are organised every day. From Monday to Friday, you can go on city tours, museums, galleries or do sports. On Saturday, you will travel to another city to see its highlights.

Students will live with selected German host families. It is an excellent opportunity to practice the German language after classes to improve your skills. You will learn about the German way of life and traditions. All families will be glad to welcome international students.
