It is home to such ancient sites as Kourion, St Hilarion Castle, Agios Filon Church’s ruins, ancient Salamis, and many others. One of the famous religious sites is Stavrovouni Monastery, built in the 4th century.
Akamas Nature Park is one of the top landmarks of the internationally famous island because of the Baths of Aphrodite. It is a large complex of pools with crystal clear water.
One more local attraction is the Troodos Massif, full of pretty villages with stone-cut traditional houses and cobblestone alleys. You can also visit impressive churches and monasteries; nine of them have been given UNESCO World Heritage Status.
